David Newbatt Originals

David Newbatt is an artist and teacher who lives and works at a Camphill Community in Aberdeen, and also teaches art at the Aberdeen Waldorf School.

He received his formal art training at Brighton School of Art and at Fox Elms Anthroposophical Art Therapy Centre in Gloucester.

David works mainly in watercolours and pastels on paper, or acrylic on board, and is also a prolific mural painter. He has spent 30 years living in Camphill Communities throughout Great Britain, specialising in the education of people with special needs through the visual arts and drama. David is particularly interested in painting as a social / therapeutic medium and has travelled widely, working in very different settings to develop community building.

His works have been exhibited throughout Great Britain and Europe.
