Guild Commended
Level Framing
We make frames to
protect and enhance a variety of items such as photographs, pictures,
posters and tapestries, and also to surround objects for display such
as medals, butterflies or dried flowers.
After discussion with
the customer, we will advise on the type of frame to use, which may be
made of wood, metal or plastic and will be appropriate for the item
being framed. We have a wide range of high quality frames to choose
from. Unless they are surrounding oil paintings, most frames will
usually have glass which may need to be non-reflective. Costs will be
calculated and presented for approval, after which the finished item
will be produced.
Not all
pieces require a mountboard but this feature can make all the
difference to the finished item. Mounts can make the following
differences:
Mounts provide space around the image to give it balance in the frame
The colour of the mount can be chosen to complement, contrast or
highlight particular colours in the image
The colours in the room design in which the picture will hang can be
complemented in the mount colours
Multiple mounts, creative mount cuts and colour core mounts can be
used to add design flourish
Bevel
accents can be added to give a look of refinement and opulence to the
overall design
The Artcare
mountboard used has "molecular traps" and chemical buffers built into
the fibres of the paper structures. These features act as a trap and
neutraliser for the harmful pollutants that cause ageing and damage to
prints, pictures, watercolours, photographs in fact all types of art
media and even newsprint. The use of these mountboards helps protect
your framed images from deterioration.
