Janice McIlwain

Janice McIlwain was born in 1963, brought up in Durris and now lives in Ballater in the Heart of Royal Deeside.

Since childhood a sketch pad was always close at hand. The inspiration for her finely detailed oils and watercolours comes from the magnificent scenery that surrounds her, from the deer inhabited glens and mountains to the burns and winding River Dee. This scenery provides the basis of most of her work, but Janice is also skilled in other subject matter.

Janice has been represented in numerous exhibitions, both solo and mixed. Banchory Gallery which always has a wide range of her originals is Janice’s principal Gallery.

The Gallery has also published a limited edition print by Janice of the Russian Sailing ship Mir leaving Aberdeen harbour,
entitled “Mir Memories”
